News: New Site Opens for Coastal Georgia Foodies
The South is known for its food. No other American cuisine is more recognized than Southern Food. The Georgia Coast is Southern flavor all its own. A new web portal, CoastalGeorgiaFood.com brings the flavor of the Low Country to the Internet.

Coastal Georgia Food features recipes with Low Country Flavor, reviews of restaurants and bars on the Georgia Coast, a restaurant directory, and blogs and forums for the Coastal Georgia Foodie.

The site is the brainchild of Michael Newbern. Michael is a professional photographer in St Marys, GA. Michael has traveled the world, both as a US Sailor for ten years and a professional photographer. He’s lived all over the Eastern United States and Hawaii and been to the orient, Mexico, and California. When he got out of the Navy, he decided to settle in St Marys, the most southeastern city in Georgia. Sun and hospitality played a small role in his decision, but food was high on the list of reasons why he made St Marys his home.

"The people here are so nice and friendly," Newbern says of St Marys. "But the food would always make me want to keep coming back to the South, so I decided to make the South my home."

CoastalGeorgiaFood.com is Michael's second web portal. He's been operating a successful motorcycle e-zine/web portal for years. "It's a chance for me to take something I love and work with it as part of my living," he said. "That was one of the biggest reasons I decided to open my photography studio."

"I also love food," he continued. "I’m a Foodie. CoastalGeorgiaFood.com is like the motorcycle e-zine. I get to work with food as part of my living."
